Remembering back to my time in England when Londoners went mad from a “heatwave” of 70°F.

Pictured here is myself enjoying an old fashioned at the Hotel Russell on what felt like a spring day to me. The interiors were done by Charles Fitzroy Doll who also designed the Titanic’s first class saloon. Its bar was closing soon, and while the square outside was crowded, there was no one else anywhere inside apart from my friends and the bartender. I tried going back the next day but the doors were locked and the lobby was mothballed. The Hotel Russell had shut down.
